About this event

Word Vancouver is Western Canada's largest free literary festival, bringing readers and writers together for over 30 years. The 2026 main event at Robson Square features a massive Book Fair, dozens of workshops, and live readings across multiple stages. Special sessions include 'The Seventeen Syllable Slam' and various conversations with featured authors and poets. The festival theme, 'finding joy in darkness', is curated by Indigenous and 2SLGBTQIA+ guest curators. This all-ages celebration is completely free to attend and fosters a vibrant community of literary arts.
