Discover a landmark series of 51 history robes created by the late Haida artist Jut-ke-Nay–Hazel Wilson. These works document pivotal Haida histories, from pre-contact stories of ancestors to first contact with explorers and Wilson’s own childhood. The exhibition marks the first time nearly the entire body of work is shown together, pushing the boundaries of traditional button blankets into history painting. Threaded throughout is the persistence of the Haida people and their deep connection to territory. Visitors can explore these richly painted and appliquéd compositions in the Audain Gallery.
